– What is the purpose of the text (informs, educates and entertains, why and
how) Use examples/screenshots?
B.) Genre
– What genre is your chosen text, use examples (hybrid, sub genre)
C.) Form
– what category the text comes under (Films, Indie films, feature films)
how long it is, define who would play/watch where it falls under.
D.) Style
– Micro elements of how the text is being shown (filming, colours, music etc.) Explain
why with examples (3 different Micro Terms)
E.) Content
– Synopsis of the film/game/magazine etc in detail (what it is and what its about)
F.) Meaning
– why was it produced, what is the purpose for the outcome?
G.) Production
processes – Research task of the steps in to making the final product.
Production, distribution & Exhibition then link it to text.

Make a Separate slide on genre conventions of your chosen text/product, use example text or screenshot with annotations. (Mind map)
How does it fit your genre with links to all conventions?
List all the conventions of your genre, for each convention
give an example from the text with supporting images.
For example if you chose Call of Duty you would take screenshots of gameplay, cutscenes, menus or covers and list the conventions of a First Person War shooter. Use the correct terminology and annotate round some screenshots of your chosen product (Film, Game, Music Video etc.)

Find a specific film scene, game cutscene, music video convention and start to analyse the scene with the correct terminology and how it creates a purpose for its genre through the content shown.
